The story

One question is enough to reopen everything

At fifty, Elke can no longer pretend. Behind her smile lie sleepless nights, nightmares and a childhood she learned to keep quiet.

After hitting rock bottom, she agrees to see Claire, a psychologist. One question opens the door to the past: what is her very first memory? Little by little, Elke follows the thread back. A house full of silence, fear of her father, invisible wounds.

But there is also the old apple tree, the treehouse, and the arms of those who offered her a saving tenderness. Years later, rebuilding becomes possible: the film follows a woman who learns to stop carrying the weight of her story alone.

The film adapts Les saisons d'Elke, a novel by Stéphanie Fourneau published in July 2026 (in French).

A sensitive novel, inspired by true events, about resilience, memory and the strength to get back up. On its cover, a single apple tree spans the four seasons: that is the whole promise of the film.

What happens if the goal isn't reached?

The funds go to development first: writing, location scouting, funding applications to institutional partners. Every euro moves the film forward, whatever the final amount.

When will the film be released?

The project is in development. Contributors are the first to hear the shooting and premiere dates.
